I'd trade Gorges for him right now. He'd would suit in very well with the habs as we need a top 3 right hand D.
Gorges give you great stability and can eat 20-21 minutes per game. - soad_live
we need a right handed D more than you do
no thank you

I like Gorges but the Rangers don't need another left handed defenseman.
I am looking at Vancouver and an even swap for Bieksa, if possible. |

Indeed. I thought McDonagh was RHD. |

I realize I am going to be in the minority again on this issue, but it is being greatly exaggerated how supposedly bad Girardi's play has been. He is plays 22 minutes a night. He is second on the team in ice time. He plays against the oppositions top players every night, and he is only a -4. There are only three people on the team (Kreider, Hagelin and Zucc), who are have plus players this year. Marc Staal is a -7, playing on the second pair, and there is not talk about him not fitting into the Rangers new system.
My view on Girardi is this. Anytime you play the minutes he does against the other teams best players, you are going to get exposed sometimes. But, I think this may be the perfect example, if he were to be traded, which I doubt, of not knowing what you have until its gone, because I am not sure how many players can available on the market or in the organization would be able to step into that role in do a better job.
And, let's not kid ourselves, if Stralman moves into that role, plays those minutes, against the top opposition players, he would likely be exposed a little as well. |

You guys blocked McDonagh out of your memory, huh? I can understand that.
The Rangers have plenty of left handed blueliners: McDonagh, Staal, Del Zotto, Moore and Falk.
Only Girardi and Stralman are right handed shots and I am fully on board with the Rangers trying to explore trading Girardi.
They have McIlrath in the minors and he is a right handed shot ut there is no specific timetable on when he will be here full time. |

Glad he will be re-signed but that is a horrible contract. 39 year old goalie making 8 million dollars...awesome. |
